A Tale of Two Comedies
19th, 20th & 21st May 2022

Our Spring production was entitled ‘A Tale of Two Comedies’. This laughter packed double-bill featured two one-act plays, “The Worst Day of My Life” by Alan Richardson, and “The Senior Speed Date” by Jeff Bray. Performance dates were the 19th, 20th & 21st May 2022.

In the first play, Charlie Brown is in Hospital for tests. Afternoon visiting is about to start, but today, nothing will go according to plan and this could turn out to be the worst day of his life! This is because his carefully laid plans of having a morning, afternoon and evening visitor go awry, when all three of them turn up at the same time. What’s worse, is that the three ladies have never met, and it transpires that he is actually married to all of them, at the same time.

In the second play, we meet Joan, who has recently left her husband. She has been persuaded by her daughter to attend a Speed Dating evening as a way of meeting new people. However, the five men she meets are so ‘awful’ that she is eventually convinced to return to her husband, which is actually what her daughter had planned all along, when she arranged for the local drama group to send five men along to pose as suitors!
